Judas on the Dancefloor
0 CommentMusic Video for The Zangwills song, Judas on the Dancefloor. The song is about the issues surrounding groping, spiking and harassment on nights out. Whilst acknowledging that this is primarily an issue faced by females, everyone has some experience they can relate to and anyone can be affected. Early discussions about how to best treat the sensitive subject matter led to a decision to portray the sinister nature and sense of threat in an implied way, through dance. The idea further evolved to cast female dancer, Zoe Villiers, into the role of the Judas, blurring the lines of stereotypes. The video was shot at The Moth Club, Hackney. Produced by Actor and Filmmaker, Maisie Williams and BAFTA Cymru winning young Director, Lowri Roberts through their joint project, RAPT. Choreographed by BAFTA-nominated, James Berkery, the result is a fast-paced video that perfectly captures the disturbed nature of the night-time predator, cut with footage of the band. The video, along with a remixed version of the song was released on Friday 16th April 2021.
